Refund & Cancellation Policy
This policy explains the general rules for class cancellations, rescheduling, missed sessions, unused hours and refund requests for Top Marks Learning programs.
1. General Policy
Top Marks Learning aims to provide clear and fair handling of class cancellations, rescheduling and refund requests.
The exact treatment of a cancelled or missed class may depend on factors such as the type of program, the timing of the cancellation, teacher availability and whether the class was 1-to-1 or a micro batch.
2. Cancellation by the Student or Parent
If a student cannot attend a scheduled class, the parent or student should inform Top Marks Learning as early as reasonably possible.
Rescheduling may be possible depending on teacher availability and the circumstances of the cancellation.
Last-minute cancellations or repeated cancellations may not always be eligible for replacement classes.
3. Cancellation by Top Marks Learning or the Teacher
If a scheduled class cannot be conducted due to teacher unavailability or another issue from our side, we will normally try to arrange an alternative class or suitable replacement.
Where rescheduling is not reasonably possible, the unused class may be carried forward or otherwise adjusted as appropriate.
4. Missed Classes
If a student does not attend a scheduled class without prior notice, the class may be treated as used.
Replacement sessions for missed classes are not automatically guaranteed.
Exceptional circumstances may be reviewed individually.
5. Rescheduling
Requests to reschedule a class are subject to teacher availability and available time slots.
A requested replacement class may be arranged at a different time from the student's regular schedule.
Frequent rescheduling requests may affect continuity and may not always be accommodated.
6. Unused Tuition Hours
Where tuition is purchased as a package or monthly allocation, unused hours should normally be used within the applicable learning period or within any extension specifically agreed by Top Marks Learning.
Unused hours do not automatically qualify for a cash refund.
Where appropriate, Top Marks Learning may allow unused hours to be carried forward for a limited period, depending on the program and circumstances.
7. Refund Requests
Refund requests will be considered based on the circumstances of the enrolment and the amount of service already provided.
Where a refund is approved, completed classes or services already delivered may be deducted from the amount paid.
Any applicable payment-processing or transaction charges may also be considered where relevant.
Refund eligibility is not automatic simply because a student chooses to stop attending classes.
8. Cancellation Before Classes Begin
If a parent or student requests cancellation before the agreed program has started, the request may be reviewed based on whether teacher allocation, scheduling or other preparation has already taken place.
Where no service has yet been delivered, Top Marks Learning may consider an appropriate refund or adjustment.
9. Micro-Batch Classes
Micro-batch classes follow a shared group schedule.
If one student misses a batch class while the class continues for the remaining students, an individual replacement session is not automatically guaranteed.
If the entire batch is cancelled by Top Marks Learning, an alternative class may be arranged where possible.
10. Special Programs
Spoken English, Spoken Hindi, Phonics & Reading and other special programs may have their own class schedules, duration and batch structure.
Any program-specific cancellation or refund terms communicated at the time of enrolment will apply in addition to this general policy.
11. Technical Problems
If a class cannot be conducted because of a technical issue on the teacher or Top Marks Learning side, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule or adjust the session.
If the disruption is caused by the student's internet connection, device, electricity supply or other issue on the student's side, a replacement class cannot always be guaranteed.
12. Late Joining
Students are expected to join classes at the scheduled time.
If a student joins late, the class may still end at the original scheduled finishing time unless the teacher is able to extend it.
13. Discontinuing Tuition
Parents or students who wish to discontinue tuition should inform Top Marks Learning as early as possible.
Any refund or adjustment relating to unused classes will be reviewed according to this policy, the agreed fee structure and services already provided.
14. Approved Refund Processing
Where a refund is approved, the processing time may depend on the payment method, bank or payment provider involved.
The refund may be returned through the original payment method or another agreed method where appropriate.
15. Changes to This Policy
Top Marks Learning may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy as its services, pricing or operating procedures change.
The latest version will be published on this page.
